"Is Mill Hill home to the best Indian food in West Yorkshire?. Bradfordians may take issue with that claim but between the Gujarati snacks at Bundobust(see our Manchester guide) and the Keralan cooking at Tharavadu, this short Leeds street boasts a remarkable density of next-level South Asian food. From ethereally light, crisp stuffed dosas to fragrant fish curries, Tharavadu’s dishes are vivid, elegantly spiced and deliver serious depth of flavour."
"Tharavadu is a Malayalam word which roughly translates into “keeping traditions alive”. This is the idea that is at the very heart of this ever popular south Indian inspired restaurant. Regularly cited as one of the most unique restaurants in Leeds, it has a vast array of choices on the menu and is well regarded for its unusual dishes, such as crab in coconut, fried lentil doughnuts and toffee steamed rice cakes!"
"This Michelin guide–recommended restaurant is the go-to for a classy South Indian meal in Leeds city centre, with a Keralan menu that’s heavy on fish curries and regional specialities such as whole crab and... International in Leeds"
"A post shared by Prashad Indian Veggie Cuisine (@prashad_veggie) on Dec 1, 2016 at 10:01am PST. A stylish former pub with wooden panels from India fronting the bar, Prashad in Bradford has gained a loyal following for its meat-free dishes with influences from Southern India and Gujarat. The restaurant has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and inspectors praised its “authentic vegetarian dishes […] from enticing street food to more original creations."
"When to go: When you want to change a carnivores opinion of vegetarian cooking. What to have: Gujlawa. With two cookbooks, two AA Rosettes, a Bib Gourmand, popular Vegetarian cookery classes, their own Garam Masala blend on sale, and a dedication to serving their local Bradford community, this could be one of the most hard-working families in the business."
"Finally, this unique café in Hyde Park is a real taste of something different. Boasting a rich menu filled with Middle Eastern delicacies, you’ll be spoilt for choice if you want to try something new. It’s perfect for vegetarians and vegans as well, as they have a whole separate menu to cater to your veggie friends."
"1 The Crescent, Hyde Park, Leeds LS6 2NWThis little eatery on Hyde Park Corner is brimming with Moroccan style. They have a fully vegan menu, alongside the reglar menu, with everything from tagines and mezze to vegan burgers and pizzas topped with vegan cheese."
"While not strictly a vegetarian restaurant, the Grub and Grog Shop is still a firm favourite among Leeds’ plant-based community. That’s because it offers up vegan and vegetarian-friendly breakfast, lunch and dinner in an informal setting, with everything made from scratch (as much as possible) using local, organic ingredients. Grub and Grog also works with a number of local providers, meaning customers can buy the products used directly from the shop."
"Rather than marking vegan dishes with a “V”, this restaurant marks meat dishes with an “M”, meaning that plant-based dishes are front and centre on the menu!. Enjoy comforting treats such as homemade crumpets, vegetable fritters or roasted squash, all washed down (as you may have guessed from the name) with a selection of specialty beers and ales."
"The Grub and Grog Shop is a great shout for brunch in Leeds. They’ve got an eclectic menu that means you can stick with the classics or go for something a little more adventurous. If you’re playing it safe, you can tuck into crumpets, bacon sarnies and eggs on sourdough, but the real fun lies in their more creative options."
"Once Across The Garden is a catering company based in York, and each Saturday have a stall at The Shambles Market serving delicious vegan cakes, cupcakes, tray bakes, millionaire’s shortbread and other delicious treats. You can also find a great selection of vegan-friendly food at Holland & Barrett if you want to cook something for yourself at your aparthotel."

"Situated on Leeds Road, Creme de la Creme is every chocoholics dream, the parlour itself is a quirky and unique space with booths to sit and enjoy your chosen delights. Choose from luxurious cakes, rich and thick freakshakes, freshly made crepes and pancakes, fluffy waffles, ice cold sundaes, hot cookie dough, sweet little macaroons and an excellent selection of hot and cold drinks."
"Address & map:27 Vinery Rd, Burley, Leeds LS4 2LB, United Kingdom. Sometimes leg stretches don’t require a vast green space, particularly for the little-limbed pals among us. In those cases, Burley Park is a city centre salvation: a small dog-friendly park that provides enough good smells for even the most inquisitive of pups–particularly those still on the lead–as well as frisbee space for the older members of the clan."
"One of the city’s most impressive landmarks, Leeds Minster was built in 1841 on an ancient, holy Christian site. It’s a beautiful, Grade I listed building, designed by Robert Chantrell, with huge stained glass windows by a range of high profile artists, including Schwanfelder, David Evans, Thomas Wilmshirst and most recently Sally Scott. You’ll also find The Leeds Cross inside – it dates back to the 10th century, making it one of the earliest objects in the city’s history."
"One of the most remarkable constructions in Leeds, the Gothic style building was designed by the famous Robert Dennis Chantrell and got consecrated in 1841. In 2012, there was a rechristening and it became known as St. Peter’s and before that, Leeds Parish Church. Alongside the impressive look, visitors stay in awe of the Saxon cross and the vibrant mosaics right behind alter that represent 12 Apostles."
"Located on King’s Road in the heart of Harrogate, Gianni’s Brio opposite the Harrogate Convention Centre has been serving up authentic, Italian cuisine for all the family since 1983. It’s a popular favourite in the town, that’s for sure, and its family-friendly ethos ensures a warm welcome. Now run by his son Marco, Gianni can still be found almost every day lending a hand, along with his daughter Elena and wife Franca on busy nights."

"San Carlo is definitely one of the most luxurious spots to eat out in Leeds – this huge, classy dining room on South Parade is perfect for special occasions. The menu is as authentic as it gets, with recipes from the man the venue is named after used still, whether it’s Filetto al Pepe Verde, Lobster Risotto or their classic pizzas – whatever you choose, it’d be rude not to couple it with one of their handpicked Italian wines. San Carlo, 6-7 South Parade, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 5QX."
