"Tharavadu is a multi-award-winning Indian restaurant in Leeds, making it a no-brainer for your curry fix. Feast on a selection of authentic Keralan dishes - chilli paneer, marinated sea bass and masala dosas - and you'll see why it's gained such acclaim."
"Prashad has a reputation for providing some of the most unique and innovative cuisine in Yorkshire. Its food won Prashad a place in the final of Gordon Ramsay’s search to find Britain’s Best Restaurant back in 2010. Prashad has also been mentioned in the Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide – and was named Best Indian Restaurant at the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards in 2014."
"If Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine is your kind of thing, then Oranaise is one of the best vegan restaurants in Leeds for you. The restaurant is furnished with traditional North African lamps and décor, setting the scene for your delicious Mediterranean meal. After a lot of requests from customers for veggie and vegan food, the head chef developed a huge vegan menu."
"1 The Crescent, Hyde Park, Leeds LS6 2NWThis little eatery on Hyde Park Corner is brimming with Moroccan style. They have a fully vegan menu, alongside the reglar menu, with everything from tagines and mezze to vegan burgers and pizzas topped with vegan cheese."
"While not strictly a vegetarian restaurant, the Grub and Grog Shop is still a firm favourite among Leeds’ plant-based community. That’s because it offers up vegan and vegetarian-friendly breakfast, lunch and dinner in an informal setting, with everything made from scratch (as much as possible) using local, organic ingredients. Grub and Grog also works with a number of local providers, meaning customers can buy the products used directly from the shop."
"Based in Sheaf Street Cafeteria, Grub & Grog is open for breakfast and lunch all week as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, serving an array of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Utilising fresh ingredients and wholesome recipes, their daytime offering is centred on sandwiches, salads and traditional brunch options. The evening menu is usually based around vegan offerings with a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian options."
"Rather than marking vegan dishes with a “V”, this restaurant marks meat dishes with an “M”, meaning that plant-based dishes are front and centre on the menu!. Enjoy comforting treats such as homemade crumpets, vegetable fritters or roasted squash, all washed down (as you may have guessed from the name) with a selection of specialty beers and ales."
"They serve unreal kebabs, fried chick’n and sides, and the best part is, everything on the menu is completely vegan friendly!. My personal favourite is the fried chick’n combo with buffalo sauce. However, everything I’ve tried from there is amazing, so I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed!"
"133-135 Cardigan Road, Leeds LS6 1LJWhile not totally vegan, Grove Cafe on Cardigan Road has become a mainstay of the student vegan scene in Leeds. Serving up vegan curries, pizzas (with vegan cheese) and burgers, Gove Cafe is the place to get your favourite takeaway food, veganised."
"This takeaway restaurant delivers all over Leeds and has an impressive list of vegan pizzas on its menu, with toppings that include vegan cheese, roasted tofu and meat-free chicken pieces. Oh, and it also sells vegan garlic bread. How could you resist?"
"This craft coffee and tea house has a minimalist interior and Skipton's best coffee. The provenance of its rotating beans is chalked up on a board, along with tasting notes for its menu of white and black teas.... Health Food in Skipton"

"If there was one serious oversight in my original 2009 “budget eats” guide, it was not paying full due respect to this vegan veteran. Its soups, dhals, top-ranking falafel, hummus and tinas (fried carrot patties of remarkable ersatz-creaminess; it’s the coconut milk apparently), are the stuff of local legend and tasty enough to have persuaded many sceptical carnivores to come around. You can eat in of course, in the bright, surprisingly Andalucian-styled cafe-restaurant (El Piano has sister branches in southern Spain), but the takeaway hatch is where you will find a serious bargain."

"Once known as the hangout for Leeds' goths and emo kids, the Grade I listed Victorian Corn Exchange is now home to a variety of boutiques and independent stores, selling fashion, gifts, Yorkshire produce and more. There are also cafes where you can enjoy and coffee and soak in the impressive architecture, regular craft and gift fairs and the Little Leeds Beer House, a hidden gem for real and craft ale fans looking for something different. Leeds Corn Exchange, Call Lane, Leeds, LS1 7BR. Open Monday-Wednesday 10am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sundays 10.30am-4.30pm."
"One of the most notable landmarks in Leeds is also one of the most impressive buildings. The Corn Exchange, designed by Cuthbert Brodrick, has been at the centre of the city for more than 150 years. A key trading post in its heyday, the façade of this dominating circular building is certainly impressive with its many windows, sandstone base and iron-crested dome."
"Leeds Corn Exchange is one of the city’s most recognisable and most impressive Victorian buildings. This Grade I building houses a wide range of independent retailers and tasty eateries with an iconic domed roof."
"With a name like Golden Acre, this even sounds like a winning park for dogs–and it doesn’t disappoint. There are 136-acres on offer, which in doggy terms means space to christen at least 71 tree trunks. In between planted areas, there is vast parkland, woodland, fields, wildflowers, ponds, and a lot of well-maintained paths to walk along."
"Six miles north of Leeds city centre is this park (once an amusement park) which is best known for its gardens, popular tea rooms and circular lakeside walk. Reach it via Otley Road, LS16 9JY."
"Tribeca City Cafe, 2 Park Square E, Leeds, LS1 2NE - Visit now. Proudly serving the businessfolk of Leeds for years, this bright and breezy basement eatery prides itself on local produce, whether that’s artisan breads or coffee from local supplier, Keighley’s Seasons For Coffee."
