"Clifford’s Tower is another one of the cities most famous attractions. Whilst taking photos from outside of the tower is completely free of charge, ticket fees do apply if you wish to go inside. Once inside, you can check out some great views of York from the top."
"The striking contrast of Clifford’s Tower with the green bank of grass it sits on is a classic photo to snap of York!. Make the short (but steep) climb to the top and venture inside for a panorama of York."
"This award-winning museum attempts to bring 400 years of the city’s history together in one place. The interactive style of this museum is full of loyal recreations that accurately imitate how life would have been; a street plucked straight from the Victorian era, a row of iconic shops straight from the 1970s and much more. Children enter for free with a paying adult and there is enough variety to keep all ages happy."
"Art And Culture, Historical Site, Architecture , Specialty Museum. York Castle Museum isn’t just going to show you the past - it’s going to let you be a part of it. The museum stands on the site of York Castle, built in 1068 by William the Conqueror."
"28/05/2021: This was our first time at Piccolo, despite living fairly close. We couldn’t fault the food or the service. Even though the restaurant was busy, we still felt COVID secure."
"13/05/2021: I went to Sleepers with my partner and my 2 grandchildren at 4.30pmI had booked and arrived slightly early The table outside was ready and clean It was the first meal out since the end of the lockdown and we didn’t know what to expect The whole evening was great Our worry that it may be cold came to nothing. Although we didn’t use the heaters in the outside booth they were there if needed. The food was excellent and the service was goodThe COVID safety procedures were in place but it didn’t effect our enjoyment in any wayThe staff and management have done a really good job of making the outside area a pleasure to experience We will certainly go again"

"Having enjoyed such success in neighbouring Leeds, hummus bar Humpit has brought their falafel and pitta packs to the streets of York. Opened in February 2018, Humpit has already established itself as a firm favourite with the city’s student scene. One of their filled pittas will set you back £4.50 and comes loaded with falafels, hummus, salad and pickles."
"Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing. The Humpit began in 2014 with a dream to create real authentic hummus and to be able to enjoy it with a warm pita. Five years later, the Humpit has established itself in the York community."
"Christmas isn't far away guys and we have some new festive sides coming soon!. Keep your eyes peeled for more info. Established in 2014, Humpit has, in just five years, become one of the top go-to places for a delightful dining experience."
"If there was one serious oversight in my original 2009 “budget eats” guide, it was not paying full due respect to this vegan veteran. Its soups, dhals, top-ranking falafel, hummus and tinas (fried carrot patties of remarkable ersatz-creaminess; it’s the coconut milk apparently), are the stuff of local legend and tasty enough to have persuaded many sceptical carnivores to come around. You can eat in of course, in the bright, surprisingly Andalucian-styled cafe-restaurant (El Piano has sister branches in southern Spain), but the takeaway hatch is where you will find a serious bargain."
"Offering authentic Chinese food in York, Chef Lu’s dishes range from traditional to modern varieties. This restaurant will take you back to China. You will definitely get to taste the authenticity of Chinese food in the UK, even though you haven’t visited China, yet."
