The Best Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurants in Leeds: Restaurant Choice
"If you want to know where all the beautiful people of Leeds head when the sun shines, then take a trip to Angelica. Located in Trinity shopping centre, this rooftop bar and garden is the closest you’ll get to Ibiza without hopping on a plane. With panoramic views of Leeds, plush white furniture, and a stunningly curated cocktail list, Angelica brings the glamour."
"Nestled on the fifth floor of Trinity Leeds, Angelica will cater for all your alfresco dining needs. Their rooftop terrace comes complete with breathtaking skyline views as well as heaters and canopies if the weather demands. They have a tantalising selection of sharing boards and small plates, or you can dive straight in with one of their mains."
"Angelica has the highest rooftop bar in Trinity Leeds, and the views across the city are absolutely incredible. See alsoA Movie Lover's Guide to the West Midlands. The terrace is super Instagrammable, too, as it’s decorated with trees, lavender and shrubbery."
"There’s not one, but two roof terraces to choose from at Headrow House. They’re both massive, so you’ll never struggle to socially distance. The upper terrace, Kennedy Meadows, offers incredible views across the city’s rooftops, while the lower terrace has plenty of cosy corners to settle down in."
"The first promises long benches, collapsible parasols and overhead heaters, with a toe-tapping soundtrack provided by live DJs. The second is another floor up, with a mix of covered huts and open benches ripe for the picking. This is craft beer heaven, so expect local and global favourites."
"Serving traditional British food, The Reliance may be just a stone’s throw from the revelry of Merrion Street, but it’s a much more relaxed affair. The bar and dining room are separate but both carry the same cafe-like vibe, so you can sit where you like and dine on home-cured charcuterie boards from the kitchen’s very own curing room. The Sunday roasts are another family favourite, and with high chairs, baby changing facilities and a great selection of booze behind the bar, there’s enough to keep all ages happy."
"One of the most popular roast dinners in Leeds - The Reliance has built up a real reputation for their servings. You can choose from roast chicken, roast shoulder of lamb and a veggie or vegan nut roast. On the side, you can look forward to roasties, carrots, cauliflower cheese and fresh greens, with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy."
"A friendly, traditional coaching inn on a main street in the centre of Pickering. Inside it's all dark wood furniture, low-slung beamed ceilings and cheerful locals with dogs propping up the bar. A smart, stone-flagged restaurant and glass-walled ‘bothy’ lend a stylish air but the overall ambience is unstuffy and relaxed."
"Whether you are after a quick bite or an evening meal, you will find what you are looking for at this English pub. All dishes are made from fresh and locally sourced ingredients by the chef Andrew Galloway and his team who are using a "modern-classic" style of cooking."
"If you want an all-day brunch in Leeds, add Olive & Rye to your list. This charming, rustic cafe in Queens Arcade is the sister venue to nearby Hepworth’s Deli, and it’s an extension of what they do so well. Take one look at the menu and you’ll know you’re in for a treat – we’re talking chorizo baked beans with Wensleydale Cheddar, paprika and toasted sourdough, alongside fresh waffles with salted caramel, macadamia nut brittle and vanilla cream."
"Olive & Rye, Queens Arcade, 18-20 Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6LF - Visit now. The humble sandwich is a lunchtime staple but forget about those boring meal deals, for the true sandwich experience head to Olive & Rye in the stunning Queen’s Arcade. And if you want to make your own at home, this superb deli is packed with meats, cheeses and chutneys."
"04/06/2021: Easy to book a table online , Great warm Wellcome and great service , food was good too and good choice on menu thanks you .. 02/06/2021: We were greeted really friendly and our waiter was lovely. It wasn’t very busy and our food came very fast and was delicious."
"01/06/2021: Upon being greeted by the most miserable people on the planet, we had our menus thrown on the table. We tried to order food several times, but none of the staff were interested. However, the manager suddenly became interested when we got up and left, running after us for the drinks bill."
"Booking is not required for The Ruddy Duck on Bridge Street, opening its outdoor area from April 12. Visit for handmade pizza and steak."
"New exciting bar and restaurant, with a contemporary and refreshing seasonal a la carte menu. Serving modern and traditional cuisines from aroun ..."
"I was actually intending to spend a couple of hours in the Tiled Hall Cafe (see above) but it was closed for a private event, so I wandered into The Light centre and spotted this pink, flowery, instagram-perfect wonderland!. Haute Dolci has eight locations, so it’s a much larger operation that the other Leeds’ coffee shops I’ve included here, but it’s so pretty that I just had to include it. I would say it’s more of a dessert restaurant than a coffee shop, serving up the most elegant looking desserts, but I had a cappuccino and a couple of macarons which were intensely sweet (in a good way)."
"Although Haute Dolci isn’t a cafe, I couldn’t skip this dessert restaurant. You’ll find this beautiful restaurant inside The Light leisure centre. Their menu is all about desserts which is the dream for anyone with a sweet tooth."
"Puddings to die for from Haute Dolci in The Light - now delivered on UberEats. Choose from chocolate fudge brownies, banana split sundaes, stacked American pancakes and plenty more."
"During the day, Afterz is the perfect place to get some refreshing ice cream with the kids. But, it’s also a late night cafe, which means you can go in and satisfy your midnight munchies with some incredible ice cream flavours – think Curly Wurly, Toffee Crisp and Skittles. That’s not all, as they do a pretty tempting menu of candy shakes, waffles and majoun, a Moroccan jelly-like sweet."
"This day to late-night cafe bar serves ice cream non-stop, making it just as perfect for midnight munchies as a trip in the day with the little ones. Order an epic knickerbocker glory-style sundae drenched in hundreds and thousands, or simply grab a few scoops in a tub. Flavours include the likes of Curly Wurly, Skittles and Toffee Crisp."
