Our 8 Favourite Vegan Restaurants in Leeds
"East 59th brings US-inspired cuisine into the centre of Leeds. The New York City-style bar and grill offers guests a contemporary American dining experience throughout the day, then seamlessly transitions into a sophisticated Manhattan-style rooftop nightspot."
"What: Boasting stunning rooftop views of the city, the terrace at Angelica, which sits six floors up in the Trinity Shopping Centre, is one of Leeds' most popular al fresco dining destinations. It might be known predominantly as a bar but the food menu here certainly isn't to be sniffed at. Head here on weekends for a memorable outdoor brunch or treat yourself to a three-course dinner in the evening, with indulgent dishes such as lobster and chips on offer.Where: Level 6, Trinity Centre, 70 Boar Lane, LS1 6HW"
"With a wrap around terrace and panoramic city views, Angelica is a real show-stopper. Relax in a luxurious setting with a cocktail prepared by one of their skilled mixologists. What better way to spend a summer’s day?"
"With its Germanic beer hall, swanky redondo beach and that roof terrace for long sunset sessions, Headrow is dating paradise. With buy one get the second for £1 cocktails, you can neck the nerves and maybe even get a snap for the ‘gram. Loved up couples tend to hang here looking smug, so you might as well join in."
"The first promises long benches, collapsible parasols and overhead heaters, with a toe-tapping soundtrack provided by live DJs. The second is another floor up, with a mix of covered huts and open benches ripe for the picking. This is craft beer heaven, so expect local and global favourites."
"A former textile mill and one-time grotty dive pub, the historic building that now houses Headrow House was given a hefty makeover to transform it into the four-floor nightlife venue it is today."
"Serving traditional British food, The Reliance may be just a stone’s throw from the revelry of Merrion Street, but it’s a much more relaxed affair. The bar and dining room are separate but both carry the same cafe-like vibe, so you can sit where you like and dine on home-cured charcuterie boards from the kitchen’s very own curing room. The Sunday roasts are another family favourite, and with high chairs, baby changing facilities and a great selection of booze behind the bar, there’s enough to keep all ages happy."
"The Reliance manages to strike the fine balance between executing faultless of the moment dishes, with effortless approachability. Fondly known by regulars as The Relly, this neighbourhood restaurant showcases beautiful ingredients from across Gods Own County. Their wines are exceptual too."
"On first glance, The Reliance looks like nothing more than a vintage chic bar, but this dine-in pub has no trouble nabbing the title of ‘best restaurant in Leeds’. The decor is comfortable, but minimalist. The service is warm, not ostentatious."
"Hyde Park Book Club’s extensive menu caters exclusively to vegetarians and vegans!. They use meat substitutes from The Vegetarian Butcher, which allows much of their menu to be vegan, too, and the dishes that aren’t can usually be made vegan, which is great. They have everything from “chicken” sandwiches to breakfast muffins, and all of it is seriously yummy."
"If you’re trying to say ‘I’m wavy, listen to acid jazz and eat vegan chicken wearing Carhartt,’ Hyde Park Book club is the choice for you. Even if you’ve never had a housemate who DJs here on weekends, it’s a sweet option for laidback vibes, affordable larger and serious culture points. Hyde Park Book Club, 27-29 Headingley Ln, Leeds LS6 1BL"

"If you love your food, you’re going to love Leeds – and even better, if your kids aren’t such foodies, there’s still plenty to keep everyone happy. At Trinity Kitchen, there’s a whole collection of street food stands with extra pop-up stalls, so you could eat anything from burgers and burritos to pizza and Pho, as well as a fantastic rolled naan wrap and cinnamon dusted doughnuts. And if you fancy something a bit more adventurous than your kids, they can stick with a simpler option while you can experiment."
"Bill’s is housed in the beautiful Albion Place near Trinity Leeds shopping centre. It’s spread across two floors and breakfast is served until 11.30am. The toasted sourdough with hummus, smashed avocado, spinach, roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms and mixed seeds is a stand-out vegan dish."
