Best Brunch Leeds: 15 spots for a late-morning feast
"Fettle is a brilliant find if you’re looking for somewhere to have brunch in Leeds. On the weekend, the Scandinavian-inspired cafe has a special all-day menu that bridges the gap between breakfast and lunch. You’ve got classics like their full English breakfast, but the veggie alternative is arguably even better – you’ll get slices of halloumi or tofu, a free-range egg cooked your way and sourdough toast, served with beautifully seasoned wilted spinach, mixed beans, confit tomatoes and a flat mushroom."
"Once a cafe, now a fine dining destination, Fettle is a must-try if you like good food. Their cosy restaurant serves up a menu of intriguing dishes from morning until night. In the evening, you can share small plates – try the pork belly with rosemary fudge and rind popcorn or smoked akee with kimchi and cauliflower."
"This little gem is one of York’ most recent entries in The Good Food Guide 2019. Owned and managed by a husband and wife team who are as passionate about the ingredients used in their food as they are about the final results, a visit to Partisan will exceed all expectations. Located on the beautiful Micklegate, Partisan is a cafe by day and a restaurant by night."
"Located on Micklegate, Partisan serve both breakfast and brunch. Treat yourself to French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Smashed Avocado and Melted Goats Cheese or the fabulous Partisan Breakfast."
"Brew & Brownie have two locations in York, just doors apart from one another on Museum Street. One of the locations operates as a Bakeshop and the other as a great little cafe. Inspired by the seasons and the tastes from their countryside upbringings, the owners of Brew & Brownie serve a menu of sweet and savoury treats plus premium coffees and loose leaf teas."
"What’s on the menu – York’s best brownies delivered to your doorstep – what’s not to love?. Millionaire’s shortbread and rocky road are on the menu too."

Serving delicious cakes and coffees during the day, along with their all-day breakfast sandwiches, Bennett’s turns into a bistro at night, serving more pricey items such as their roast chicken breast with roast onion cream and wild mushrooms at 21 USD."
"Described as the perfect place to relax and to take a break from the bustling city life, Bennett’s Cafe & Bistro is situated next to the spectacular York Minster, and offers beautiful views of York. Serving a range of traditional English food with an Italian twist, such as bacon or sausage in lightly toasted ciabatta, Bennett’s Cafe & Bistro is known for its tempting selection of wholesome, freshly made brunch dishes."
"An authentic Cantonese restaurant in town, The Mulan exudes an aura that is modern and sophisticated through its design and interiors. This restaurant provides a fine-dining experience in a relaxed and comfortable environment, and also a quick takeaway for people who are always on-the-move yet want to eat healthy and delicious. You can try crowd favorites including honey garlic wings, sweet & sour chicken, Cantonese seafood chow mein, or you could pick any you would like from the restaurant menu."
"Monday-Saturday, a two course lunch will set you back just £7.20 while a three course Sunday lunch £9.90 per head. The Mulan Chinese Restaurant is not in the city centre – in fact it’s on more of an industrial estate. This does mean very easy parking and a good sized premises, It’s very near the Vue Cinema and Ten Pin Bowling."
"If so, you would love The Mulan, a somewhat hidden gem in York. They’re best known for Chinese takeaway meals, which is perfect if you’d like to catch a movie or spend dinner at home. If you do choose to dine in, however, the servings don’t disappoint."
"09/06/2021: We were recommended this restaurant by a friend’s son who lives near Harrogate. We were staying on a bus route straight into Harrogate, so it meant that both my husband and I could have a drink. We arrived 1/2hr early for our table, but this was not a problem although it was busy all COVID rules were very good, and I felt very safe."
"If you dine in the restaurant, they have an all-you-can-eat buffet or the option to order a la carte. The takeaway menu is equally generous as there are some great value set meal options available. Unlike many of the Chinese takeaways in Harrogate that close for one or two days a week, Imperial Palace is open seven days a week."

"The Cauldron Falls are set just outside the idyllic village of West Burton. Often referred to as both the West Burton Falls, they’re well worth a visit if you’re also making a trip to the slightly more popular Aysgarth Falls, which is just a few miles up north. Just a short walk from the village, it’s easily accessible and doesn’t require a massive hike!"
"Aysgarth Falls is one of Yorkshire’s most renowned waterfalls. Set on the fast-flowing River Ure, it’s actually a series of three cascading falls carved into the river. A tourist attraction for over 200 years, it’s been the inspiration of Wordsworth and has even been featured in a Hollywood movie – Robin Hood Prince of Thieves."
"It is not too often that you can place yourself in an English Romantic painting from 1816-17. But when you admire the crashing white waters of Aysgarth Lower Falls, you …"
"At 55 hectares, it’s no surprise that Golden Acre Park made this list. It’s got a little bit of everything, which means you can easily lose a day exploring, especially if you add Breary Marsh and Adel Dam into your adventures. You’ll find all manner of wildlife here, including kingfishers, swans, woodpeckers and herons – be sure to visit the wildfowl lakes, woodland gardens and cherry orchard to make the most of the experience."
"Six miles north of Leeds city centre is this park (once an amusement park) which is best known for its gardens, popular tea rooms and circular lakeside walk. Reach it via Otley Road, LS16 9JY."
